Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Prior to our last trip, my daughter diligently saved her allowance, birthday money, etc. for a princess makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique before she turned 13 and was too old to participate. She chose the location in Cinderella's castle and selected our Halloween party day (this can be scheduled 180 days out, and appointments fill up fast!) so that she'd be all ready for the party and her costume (Cinderella).   I had seen many kids who had participated in BBB, but I wasn't completely sure what to expect for her from this experience. We were NOT disappointed!

Upon entering the castle, K registered with the front desk, and we waited only a few minutes before being called to the royal dressing room, where she was given a shirt, tutu, and sash for her

Next, we were escorted to our fairy godmother-in-training (who happened to be K's birthday twin), and her magical makeover began!   There are several package options, but she chose the one that included the shirt, sash, tutu, cinch sack, nail polish, makeup, and hairstyling.   experience. 







Throughout the makeover, a PhotoPass photographer captured shots of the process.    The fairy godmothers-in-training chatted K up about all kinds of Disney tips, tricks, and secrets.   She felt so special throughout the whole event! 





Finally, the big reveal took place, and they announced Princess Kaitlyn had arrived!   She was beaming from head to toe and truly felt like a princess!

Following the makeover, we learned that she got to have a photo shoot in the nearby Castle Couture store, where she changed into her costume and even got to hold THE glass slipper in her photos since she was dressed as Cinderella!!   What a fun time for her!   






I was skeptical about this whole event, but we had so much fun, and it was so fun for her to get pampered.

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

When we visited Walt Disney World in 2016, my kids discovered a fun, interactive game called Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom.   This game combines role-playing with cards (think Pokemon, Magic, etc.).   Each day when you enter the park, you can visit the "fire station" and request a set of cards for this game.    The Cast Members there will set you up for the game, which is a virtual "battle" against villains in Magic Kingdom.   You visit hidden portals throughout the park and cast spells using your various cards in an effort to help Merlin protect the Magic Kingdom from villains such as Hades and Maleficent.   Each time you cast a spell that is strong enough, you are given clues about which portal is next on your journey.   Some cards are "stronger" than others, and spell cards can be combined to strengthen them.    There are several different missions, ranging from easy to hard.  As you progress through the diff...

Magic Shots!

When you purchase the Disney Photopass Memory Maker along with your ticket and resort purchase, you have Disney photographers waiting to take as many family photos as you want on property.   Photographers are stationed with MOST characters in the park (except at character meals), as well as in prominent locations such as in front of the castle at Magic Kingdom, the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom, and Spaceship Earth in Epcot.   A special feature of this package is "magic shots," which are photos with surprise "magic" in the photos when they are added to your account.  My kids have always loved Magic Shots, and this time they tried to "collect" as many as they could!   Most photographers won't do many magic shots unless you ask, but sometimes you get a fun, unexpected surprise!  On our last trip we "collected" magic shots!
